page 127, The Man Who Loved Books Too Much by Allison Hoover Bartlett
the word i chose from line 17 of the page is 'mouth'. human beings have mouth, most animals, too. we use the mouth for eating, for talking, and kissing. jars, like this one, also have mouths but since jars are inanimate objects, they don't use their mouths for kissing. but can a human engage in kissing with a jar? no, let's not go there.
i am late tonight because i attended toronto's annual "totally unknown writers festival" and i had to introduce one of the writer/readers, in fact it was the last reader that i had to introduce. it was a successful night for the writers and the books to commemorate the festival got sold out again, like in previous years. last year's attendance was surpassed this year even though the notice to the public was done by word of mouth.
and this is the part where i would be shameless to promote our writers website. check us out at www.liferattle.ca.
i'll catch up with my comments on your photos tomorrow when i shall have more time, as it is late and i need my beauty sleep. good night.
Gorgeous, summerfield! Amazing what great lighting and shadow can do . . perfect angle here!! By the way, that's a beautiful jar . . love the color. Never heard of that festival, but it sounds like great fun!!
1. love the jar. 2. love the material. 3. FANTASTIC SHOT! 4. thanks for the link, can't wait to check it out. 5. how to you fit so much into your life? 6. GREAT SHOT! 7. oh, shit, said that. . . .
the festival is in toronto. the founders, my late writing mentor and his partner established it as an in-your-face reminder to the big publishers that there are more talented writers that tell the real stories. in the first ten years of the festival, it was held at the same time as the international authors festival that was held in more prestigious venues in the city as big name writers or bestselling authors were invited. the unknown writers festival was meant to remind the organizers of that bigger festival that there are local (canadian) writers whose stories merit attention than the foreign invitees.
@alia_801@danig@jannkc - thank you so much, ladies. i had taken a photo of one of the writer's mouth but when i uploaded it on the computer it didn't look quite right to me. so this little jar was a stand in, but i must say it came out perfect. i myself was surprised with what i've done! :-)
@catsmeowb - camille, you're on a roll these days, aren't you? how do i fit in all these? that's a good question. i would have to one day stop and think about that. but not today. too much to do! :-) thank you muchly.
@steeler - right, but the river that's nearest to me is about 15 kilometres and not reachable by public transportation, and it's mouth is actually in another town or province. thank you, howard.
@sanera@bohemianme - thank you, ladies. i tried to use flash but the jar came out bleh! so i thought the shot without flash was more attractive. the photo is sooc except for the framing and name tag.
you wouldn't believe how little this jar is - little as in 4 inches high and 5 inches wide. i actually had to use the macro setting. but i love how it turned out. thanks again, ladies.
