lemon grass and palm trees by summerfield

lemon grass and palm trees

this was the view i was shooting at when my friend took my picture (see yesterday's posting). the property has a large lemon grass and banana plantation, aside from guavas, coconuts, citrus fruits and other fruit trees. in time the property will be self-sustainable, when all the plants start bearing fruits. the owners, corazon and franklin, are retirees. cora was two years ahead of me in high school and we got reconnected in 2008 during my visit. she used to be a realtor in california.

cora believes in saving the environment. there are no fans in the cabanas and in the clubhouse as well as their suite. but of course, there is karaoke in the clubhouse. to fight off mosquitoes in the evening, there are mosquito nets to protect the guests when sleeping. fans, the handheld ones are used. not a problem because up in the mountains it gets cold during the night. but i think there's hot water for showers!

i'm back in canada now, waiting for partner to pick me up tomorrow at noon to go back to toronto. i don't know about sleep. i can't decide if i'm still on philippine time or san francisco time. one thing i know though is i lost some weight. my fats melted in manila's heat. hahahaha! then i get to go home to plus one temperature. what the heck, i'm sure i'll cope!
Very nice view
