future camera bag by summerfield

future camera bag

i didn't do much shopping during my vacation. i only made two major purchases: the two "prada" bags shown here (my best friend lulu bought the "jimmy choo" bag for me, an early Christmas gift) and the song chips for my karaoke unit (cover face here).

my project during the holiday season is to fit the tan coloured prada bag with inserts so that i would have a nice camera bag where i can put all my photography stuff but for the tripod. tall order, seeing that i cannot even run a sewing machine. but, i do have a sturdy and reliable hot glue gun! and if that wouldn't pan out, hey, i suppose someone at sometime would have a nice diaper bag or i can just use it as a normal purse.

the bags of course aren't genuine designer bags; knock offs, all of them. i don't get it, though: i would not, for the life of me, buy pirated CD's or DVD's, but i have no qualms buying knock off bags.
Well, I can just picture you with your glue gun -- ! "I have a glue gun and I know how to use it" as your mantra! Ha! SOunds like a great idea -- good luck!

@cscecil - hahaha! i've used that so many times, especially when i used to do a lot of crafts. or the classic "freeze!" whenever someone would enter my kitchen. it was always fun. well, i just remembered that you sew, so if i make a disaster, i'd probably just express mail you the bag and the materials! tee-hee! joke! thank you, CS.

well, I was going to volunteer my services -- so absolutely send it to me and I will work my magic - - IF the the Glue Gun Queen (YOU) can't make it work -- !!!

December 6th, 2011

@bkbinthecity - hahaha! if i don't wreck the bags. then i will have an excuse to go back to manila. thank you, brian.

@sbb1980 - you can't imagine how many purses i have that i won't let go. it's just shameful, you know! thank you, sara.

@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. i've shopped for some nice camera bags but the ones i like are in the two hundred dollar range. well, since the glue gun is available and i have two big boxes of glue gun, i thought why don't i make my own?

I think I've seen an insert on tv that helps to organize your purse, and I wonder if it might not work for camera stuff too. I don't remember what it was called though. )o: sorry. Happy gluing. Fun collage.

Good luck! I went out and found a somewhat cheap camera bag that I double as my purse (camera on one side, wallet and whatever on the other) only now I have more camera stuff, and not enough room! ~ Cute bags!

Great photos, summerfield! Have to laugh at your comments. Nothing wrong with a good knock-off. I LOVE the tan "Prada!" Use them well my friend. :)

Great shots of your new acquisitions! Have fun converting them too :)
December 6th, 2011
you going to get the glue gun out on the prada! hilarious!!
December 6th, 2011
haha...brilliant. Prada et al sell for stupid prices...it is all just a created concept of value and exclusivity that people buy into...so I have no qualms about designer copies.
Bit behind with 365...just no time to get on the net right now really. hopefully catch up on it this weekend.

@pamfromcalgary - i meant to say "two big boxes of glue sticks" (i bought them wholesale from a company in calgary a few years back).

@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. maybe i should search for that one just to save me the aggravation (from myself haha!).

@sanera - thank you, sam. good you found your somewhat cheap bag. why aren't you sharing where you got them, kiddo? :-)

@karenann - maybe i should practice first on the black one. thank you, karenann.

@danig - yeah! want to be the one to hold the bag while i kill it with the glue gun? hahaha! thank you, DG.

@patticake - thank you, patti. i, too, am so behind with commenting. race yah?

@eddyj - eddy, you should've told me. i could've got it for your cheap and could've even thrown in two really cool oakley sunglasses!! haha! thank you, eddy.

@catsmeowb - is that what they call thinking outside the box (or bag, if you will)? thank you, camille.

Cool idea.

@sanera - i checked this site. i probably won't have to make anything; just get that and shove it inside the prada bag because that is just a base, it says. hmmm. wonder if it would work. thanks, sam. i'll try and figure this out.

@netkonnexion - thank you; much appreciated.
