i have posted a photo of this ship last year ( please see http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2011-11-03 ). this is a retired ship that had been converted into a restaurant by the lakeside, right at the end of yonge street, - supposedly the longest street in the world, on the northshore of lake ontario.
i have set the camera to shoot in black and white so there's no colour version. but even if i did shoot this in colour, it would still look like b&w because it was miserably cloudy, windy and damp yesterday. i was surprised when i uploaded this that i was also able to capture with the shot a porter airline plane as it gets ready to land.

day four of the black and white week of the 'five weeks in may' challenge. i'm barely breathing, but there's another album where i can post in colour! :-P
Beautiful POV, b&w, and composition. And it all came together for you.. the crane, the ship, and the plane. You are one lucky gal. AND one great photographer!
@netkonnexion - damon, thank you for such generous comment. you're a dear!
@sunnygreenwood - thank you, anne. yes, 18 years ago and the food wasn't that great. but i've heard that they have a new chef for quite a while now, and the new menu is actually more extensive and more appealing. we will try go there the next time the grands are here as we have to treat the big one for his birthday in march and the younger one for his first communion last sunday. so i will report when that happens!
@vikkigm - thank you, vikki. as i told anne, when i went there a long time ago the food wasn't so great. now they have a new chef and we should be going there soon to check it out.
@karenann - thank you, karenann. but i don't want to call meself a photographer. i'm just a photography hobbyist, in short, a photographist. :-)
Love the perspective and composition! With a plane in the shot! Fantastic timing. 8) ("Photographer" does sound very serious, doesn't it? I want a T-shirt that says "Just a crazy housewife with a camera!" with "shaky hands included" in small print at the bottom. If you see one on sale somewhere, let me know. 8D )
@steeler - you are so kind, howard. but then i know you love ships and boats. thank you, howard.
@danig - i'm sticking it out with the b&w only for two more days after this. after that, the occasional b&w, but i want to capture the world in all its colour and splendour! thank you, DG.
@summerfield Haha! I'm going to take you seriously and tell you not to do that! I'm looking into doing it myself. There are places where I can print my own T-shirt (real life or online) so I am exploring the possibilities. Thank you for your kindness! I really feel I should do it myself though. 8)
