the hydrangea photos posted here, for my same subject week for the five weeks in may challenge, were taken at the allan gardens park. the close-up of hydrangeas shown in this collage are residues of hundreds of photos i took over my visits there this week. i wish i could post all the photos because the flowers are just simply stunning and beautiful in their array of colours.
the allan gardens park, situated four blocks north of the toronto financial district, currently has hundreds of hydrangeas on display, in different colours and almost all existing species of the hydrangea plant. when you come to toronto, you must visit the beautiful conservatory or greenhouse that houses rare plants, and tropical plants and trees, including banana and bamboo. it is open all year round, six,days a week.
this is so interesting to look at and beautiful at the same time. i like the differrent perspectives and range of colors. really think you did an excellent job with arrangement of photos.
First thing about this is how the framing just DRAWS the eye into the photo! How unique and beautiful that is ... stunning use of the frame. The gardens are so lush and colors are amazing. What a fantastic place to visit. Enjoy your little vacation at Niagara Falls ... so wonderful to get away for a few days and re-group! Looking forward to your minimalism/abstract photos.
@karenann - thank you, karenann. i'm meeting my friend from germany who is visiting her daughter. my friend's new boyfriend is with her and is travelling outside of europe for the first time so they're going to see niagara and i get to meet them there as they won't have time to travel to toronto. and then next week they go back to germany. i'm bringing her some exotic fruits that they don't otherwise get in michigan or in germany and i just came from chinatown to get her those fruits. she won't be able to bring them across the border though so she would have to make a fast eat.
When I look at the framing it is like that optical illusion where the center section appears as both the top of a four sided pyramid or the bottom of a box. Lovely work this week. Abstract or minimal. Next week presents another challenge I haven't quite figured outmu approach to yet. Enjoy the falls. I loved it there
@pandorasecho - yes, it's the same impression i get every time i look at it. i didn't quite notice it when i made the collage but only after i posted it. i think i have a shot for minimal but i will have to wait what i'd see in niagara. i always like to take pics of the water and the mist. my friend wants us to ride the big ferris wheel (see http://365project.org/summerfield/365/2011-12-27 ) like we used to in grade school, so that should be interesting. thank you, dixie.
@alia_801 - it is wonderful to visit. this week, for this challenge, i was there four times, three during my lunch hour. when you come visit toronto, i'll take you there.
Beautiful collage Vikki! I'm sorry I've missed so much of your 5 weeks shots! The hydrangeas are gorgeous! I'm always fascinated with the petals of these plants. They are so delicate and you can see every vein. It's also incredible how many colors they come in! Again- a beautiful collage!
@beba8162 - thank you, roberta.
@danig - glad you like my same subject challenge, DG. thank you.
