bubbly fruits by summerfield

bubbly fruits

not a fan of this kind of photography, but i had to try it once. i think i prefer smoke photography and one day that's what i would really like to make a go with the new camera. this here was spooky. the fruits looked like alien faces with multiple big eyes staring at me.

three days more and it's july. there goes the first half of the year.

thank you for your views and comments; they are much much appreciated.

my other posting for today is here, if you are so inclined as to take a look: http://365project.org/summerfield/365-again/2012-06-27

I like it very much. Your imagination is certainly out there today!!

Well there is a first time for everything. I can't believe that July is almost here

Cute little bubbles! (On some mornings, I see an alien face in the mirror. It is not a happy one.) Great shot! 8)

You might not be inclined towards it, but you're very good at it! This is one of my favourite fizzy fruit shots ever - just so nicely done :)

I like the detail on the bubbles and you pulled off the shot really well- so now you can check "bubbly fruit shot" off the 365 bucket list!

I love your capture of these fruits ... great bubbles!! I haven't tried this and probably won't. Mine would definitely be comical. I haven't got the knack for indoor shots like you have, summerfield. How are you liking that new camera?!!

@roth - thank you, sue. they actually tasted good straight from the fizz.

@sarasdadandmom - thank you, officer terry. having fun still?

@danig - my imagination is a bit off these days, actually. i'm writing a story the plot of which is all marbled and garbled. :-) thank you, DG.

@bkbinthecity - thank you, brian.

@myautofocuslife - does it have green head and purple eyes and mouth and magenta ears? :-D thank you, livia.

@alia_801 - oh, you are so kind, alia. thank you. i'm not happy with it so i may revisit it at some point, maybe when the cold weather comes back (if it ever comes back!).

@olivetreeann - thank you, ann. but i am not happy with it so, as i told alia, i may revisit this shot at some point in the future. (if i'm still into photography :-)) i think the one thing on my bucket list that i may not be able to do and scrap it altogether is water crown. some people just have the patience and the knack for it. also the bird in flight. i'm rethinking that, too.

@karenann - you know, you have so much talent that you haven't recognized in yourself yet. we'll have to work on that :-) i like the new camera, it's frustrating, but when i read the manual i go like "ahhhh!" i'm going to take a short course so i would understand this thing better. i'm a hands on person but someone's got to really explain this thing to me and i think i am now at the age when i can really concentrate and listen and actually learn. thank you, karenann.

Great capture and bravo for even trying. I know that I like birds, etc and am too lazy to try something else.

@pamfromcalgary - i'm all for sticking to what you know and what's comfortable for you. thank you, pam.

So when did you get your Nikon D3100?? I know recently.
How do you like it so far? I have the bubbly shot on my long list of "to do's"

Yours turned out very cool!

@myhrhelper - i got it two mondays ago. i've got some good shots already, but i have to get used to it some more. i think i would start with the csc challenge and a short course next weekend.

this is not the bubbly shot i wanted. i will have to do a bit more experimentation. i have to learn how to relax and be patient. i'm away right now with partner and i just took some shots of a guy waterskating. i got two shots of him airborne but i have a long way to go. tonight, i will try the camera on fireworks. if i get frustrated, the p&s is handy. :-) thank you, kathy.

I think Nikon has some nice program settings. Love to put it on "S" and have a very small shutter speed to catch the frozen action. The other thing I fall back on a lot is leaving it on "A" and just keeping it at 5.6 - 7
When I really get frustrated I just put it on "auto".

Don't be discouraged, you will get the hang of it and you are trying and doing more than many people have for years of owning one. I have so much to learn but I feel I'm making some head way. I love the CSC challenges but I hope that every once in a while whoever hosts one will go back to the basic's too.
I can't wait to see the vacation shots & the guy waterskating. Before I got my Nikon I couldn't dream about getting an airborne shot.

@cscecil - thank you, CS.

Thats awesome. Great capture. Lighting is great. Love how you composed this, has a great pov. The colors work perfectly together too. Fav for me. I always wanted to do the smoke photography too. Maybe someday I can join you with that. See what we come up with.

@losthorizon - haha! i inverted the photo, the fruits were actually floating but it looks ugly so i changed the pov by posting it upside down. thank you, beau. when you're more relaxed again, we'll do the smoke photography.
