As a shop keeper of nearly 15 years standing, you find that stock lines come and go and you don't get too attached to them. However, every once in a while something like these little chaps come along. They are little pottery garden ornaments and we have been selling these happy chappies for more than 10 years. They are probably our best selling item of all time as we tend to sell about 20-30 of them a day through the summer. I would estimate that I have probably unpacked, priced, put out and sold about 50,000 of the little dears over the past 10 years, so I have developed a bit of a soft spot for them.
They always manage to cheer me up even on a bad day and I have been known to have long involved conversations with them....... they are more like old friends than stock these days.
However today is a very sad day as our supplier has decided to stop manufacturing them. We have snapped up all their remaining stock but this will not last long. We will soon have to say a sad farewell to the last of these faithful little friends. It really feels like the end of an era. :(
Well that is sad news for you & all your customers! They all look very individual .....a pity someone else can't take over .....it sounds quite a lucrative business to just stop making them like that!
