Mr. Former Tree by taffy

Mr. Former Tree

Hi 365 Friends of Taffy. I'm a tree. Well, I'm a former tree. I'm not thrilled about this situation, lying here on the ground. I used to be what many (and I mean many many many) called "majestic." I'm not bragging, just stating the facts. See that scrawny thing just below my nose? That's a tree, too. But it has a long way to go to come close to what I was in my prime. I like watching to see hiker's faces when they spot me. They walk by, then pause, then come back. They stare at me. Some take pictures. That's what Taffy and her friend, Vickey did. Taffy said she was going to 'save me for the 3rd' (whatever that meant) and told me that a lot of people might see me - I'm guessing that's you all. That made me feel good. Thanks for viewing. It makes me feel alive again.
Your friend, Mr. Former Tree

Kinda sad - makes me think of Shel Silverstein's 'The Giving Tree'.

What a great find! A magical talking tree in the woods! They have obviously left you there to guide the youngster standing beside you! I just hope they don't need firewood this winter!

Fantastic find, Taffy. Those knots are just like two eyes on a long nose. Gorgeous shot. Love the narrative.
