Huh? What? Me? by taffy

Huh? What? Me?

I noticed in the past few days how the squirrels, pigeons, and sparrows all are hanging out at the house around the corner. I learned today from the dad of the woman living there that she is teaching these critters to come to her and eat out of her hand. She even lets the squirrel in her lap. Eek!! But it explains why I've been 'lucky' in finding animals to photograph on my walk to work! Processed today for bww. I thought this little guy was cute.

Awesome pic! My sons would love it there. They love to watch the squirrels play. Squirrels are just so funny with their silly antics. However, they can be quite pesky too, chewing through phone lines and building nests in attics.

He is cute- and it looks like he's expecting a model's fee for posing so nicely. Better start carrying some peanuts to work!

@annied So funny Annie -- I love animals, but somehow can't imagine any joy in a wild and potentially rabid one landing in my lap!!

@yaorenliu Sorry for the delayed response...the 'eek' is because squirrels, while very cute, are actually rodents. So, you have no idea where they have been, what diseases they may carry, and whether or not they are prone to biting. So, I love to photograph them as long as they keep their distance. That said, it isn't unusual to see people who feed squirrels (they are really cute), and I even had a friend who found an abandoned baby squirrel and nursed it back to health. It stayed around and was very tame and friendly.

@taffy hahahahaha well the rabid part I get - we do not have rabies here so don't have to worry about that bit lol
