Harvest Beauty by taffy

Harvest Beauty

I love hay bales and have wanted to photograph one/them for ages. Driving home from town, I noticed one of the inland farms had harvested the hay and it was filled with bales. But it was the wrong time of day for that gorgeous golden look that I really love. So instead, practiced with some processing software and liked how this one came out.

I love how you can take an ordinary photo then turn it into a work of art!

Interesting processing Taffy, it's like a negative.

Great POV and processing - so otherworldly.

Truely unique processing, love it!

Clever processing Taffy! I've always liked the rolled bales of hay. Here, they're mostly rectangular blocks and not nearly as appealing.

Love this, nice textures.

I agree with Sue, very IR. Infrared was the first thing to pop into my head when I saw this!

Great processing Taffy, hay bales are great but I miss the stacks and stocks of my childhood! Poor old me!

Very interesting effect - negative film? Or IR? Probably something completely different!
I saw some hay bales myself this very morning...thought I might get back to them during the weekend...

Have you seen the pictures that @ladygator has taken with her infrared camera. I thought you had one for a moment. This is lovely.

Great processing. I agree they do make an interesting subject. It would look great in the golden hour.

This is really cool, great processing.

The processing makes it look like a sketch. Very cool.

Very unusual processing making a great image! I though it was infra red -
I have seen a few IR shots on here recently and wondered how it was done.

Nicely processed

Cool processing! Gives them a different twist which I think works well with the texture of the hay.

@ericdibosco I processed it first as b&w using Silver efex. Then, imported it into Color efex and used the orange filter twice, first for the sky (but made very transparent), then for the ground, doing the same, til I had the balance and light tone the way I imagined. It was fun!

I like the viewpoint and the processing. Initially I thought it was Infrared.

Neat processing. I've been in search for the golden field and golden bale, too. Not found yet. I'll keep looking

@bob65 I wish I knew infrared! This is my attempt to capture that look but with the colors in it that I want as well. Glad you liked it.
