Not any more it isn't - it's a bespoke cabinet maker now. The building stands on Forge Lane in Little Aston, and many people think the lane was named after the forge. It was, but not this one - further down the lane was a much older mill forge (circa 1600) and it was named after that.
The furniture inside this building now is gorgeous - I wish I had the nerve and money to go in, but I guess I'll have to stick with B&Q.
This is so nice, I like how you've taken this with the forge leading up to the nice building at the end. What a lovely day too with that rare blue sky! Fav.
I like those mushrooms on the lawn, and the cottage at the far end of the road, and the forge building. Buuuut... just look at that stunning door. I would surely like to view it from the front. Actually i think i;d like to stand and stare at it live... but that's a no-can-do...
Lovely capture.
Quite a few artisan craftsmen in and around Brighton. Often find myself looking longingly at beautifully crafted furniture before I head off to Argos or a hunt through the charity shops....
