I'm using this last week of the B&W Bookclub theme to expand my experience of 'B&W as normality'... to polish (if I can) my technique of seeing and then capturing images in B&W that we would normally expect to see in colour. I don't expect this to be easy... or necessarily successful!
This is an alternative to the B&W Greenfinch in my main 365 album for today.
You're opening my eyes to seeing things in b&w that I thought I might prefer in colour. I agree with April - the b&w concentrates the eye on the form, especially with that lovely dark bokehish background.
I read once a long time ago, that it's easy to capture a picture in color and harder to see which pictures would look great in BW. I assume this is sort of what you are talking about. What is your bookclub challenging next month? Lots of shades of grey in this and I think it makes for a good capture in bw.
@joansmor hi Joan - thanks for popping in. Next month's proposal is 'Macro March' but I'm not sure that I want to restrict myself to a whole month of macro shots.
@vignouse I think a month of anything would be too much for me. I like my get=pushed challenge because it changes every week. Probably my short attention span. You are excellent at Macro shots so it could be interesting. If you are still on tonight will by champagne flute make a good choice for the low-key I am supposed to do this week.
@joansmor Yeah still here, catching up on commenting after a weekend away. I think a champagne flute will make a great subject for a low-key B&W photo... good luck!
