Get Pushed 96

My Get Pushed partner Françoise @francoise wrote - "My challenge is a scene with a group of people or even a very large crowd of people." This is a first try: I chose the elongated crop and the selective focus in order to emphasize the distance and separation between distinct groups even when a lot of people gather in the same place.
@francoise - Hi Françoise - here's a first try for the challenge you gave me for get-pushed-96.

I've really enjoyed all the shots you have taken as part of your get pushed challenge - I like you outside your comfort zone....you always impress!!!

That reminds me I need to give my partner her challenge. I agree with Louise even if you are uncomfortable you take the challenge seriously.

Great shot, both the selective focus and the crop work really well

Interesting. I love the colors -- blue and purple and green with the white umbrellas. Perhaps the selective focus does emphasize that the group in center feels center of their universe; I find the blurry other groups somewhat unsettling. Will look at picture again tomorrow and see if I feel the same way.

I thought your push was tilt shift. It works great on this group.

Great street shot. I like the focus.

Great shot, like the selective focus!

Great composition with the people and shots of pink sunshade.

Superb effect! I'm not deep into photography, so I don't know how you did it (if someone could explain, that would be great!). All the same, its wonderful!

I like the effect! It looks like we're seeing the past and the present! - Lucy

@fishers Whay a lovely idea Lucy - perhaps I should try selectively decolouring the blurred areas to further emphasize that feeling... when I get a spare 5 minutes perhaps!

@varundesaiphotography Thank you Varun - this effect was produced in camera using a Lensbaby Pro lens (Google it), but you could do the same thing in post-processing using Photoshop or one of its clones.

I love your location choice. The fushia umbrellas creates a nice focal point.

Software? Lensbaby? Or what? It's a good shot, whatever
