@jocasta@mcsiegle This pole replaced a much smaller version which used to be in the farmer's field but EDF (Electricité de France) decided they wanted to put a switch in the line so they put up this horrendously big pole at the bottom of our lane so that it could be easily accessed. We weren't asked and neither did we have a say in the matter. France isn't all vin et croissants!
@joansmor Thanks Joan - they also send someone round each year to mutilate the trees in our garden lest they should touch the lines! This photo is not SOOC ;-)
I feel your pain.. we live within view of a golf course and they recently put up 2 very large poles directly between us and our golf course views. It is a great shot, though. You managed to make it interesting with the purple hues.
It's not like you Richard to process your photos and alter the colouring like this......you usually keep things more natural. As you know I personally prefer a bit of jiggery pokery to spice things up a bit, so really like this shot.
@lab4693 I've photographed this pole many times but when I look at the results, it's just an ugly pole! Something about it makes me keep trying though, so this time I hacked it about in ColourEfex Pro 4 and then played with colour balance in Lightroom 5 - I liked the result enough to post it!
