...here's another in a short series of studies on wind-turbines. I took this to emphasize that their fundamental business is to stand tall with their heads in the clouds searching the wind.
Some people in Maine are fighting these on the idea that they destroy the beautiful coasts, they make a lot of noise and don't provide enough energy. There are supposed to be some installed in the ocean off the coast. We shall see. Now that would make a great picture. You have also shown the enormity of these things.
@helly31 Thanks Helen - there are actually two in the background if you look carefully... and three more out of sight, making a wind-farm of 6 turbines.
@joansmor@ceilidh They do come in a range of sizes - this one is 80 metres tall with 42m long blades and is surprisingly quiet. I can't remember the generating power of these or their web-address, but you can monitor their performance on line.
