Such a wonderful variety of colours, from red through to the hints of yellow. They look so much more interesting to eat than the usual supermarket ones. I'm waiting for my dads to be ready to eat. Katharine

The shape and texture of these tomatoes looks so different from the ones I a use to seeing.

@janiskay These are known as 'Beef' or 'Beef Heart' tomatoes Janice - these here are about 4 inches in diameter but they can be up to 6 inches. There are very few pips and the flesh is firm and succulent. They make a great tomato salad seasoned with rock salt, freshly ground black pepper, drizzled with virgin olive oil and garnished liberally with freshly torn basil leaves. They are also awesome grilled in thick slices with all the accompanying seasonings.

@vignouse oh darn now you have my mouth watering. Now I have to put some things on my grocery list. Not that I can find those tomatoes here.
