This american oak is one of several in the Parish Gardens which I've featured here before: over the past year it had taken on a distinct list to the point where it had become dangerous. Five minutes after I took this photo, the tree had been felled and was on the ground: two and a half hours later it was a neat, if rather large, stack of logs.
So you'd better not start leaning or you could be in trouble. Love this because it is so symbolic of a group of men having to discuss all the ways to approach the subject. And in the discussion are lots of stories of other trees with problems.
A good job done I'd say! Good that you got a shot of it before all the action - sometimes these big trees just have to go, even though they are gorgeous.
