The bank in front of our house is home to a very vigorous infestation of Japanese Knotweed which the farmer hates as it encroaches on his field but we rather like it as it makes a thick hedge in summer which shields the house from passing traffic and the midday sun.
At the beginning of winter all the banks and ditches are cleaned by the commune and in our case, the hollow stems of the knotweed are left on the ground to rot away. When I went out into the lane this morning I was struck by how attractive the scattered stems looked covered in a thick frost, so I took some pics.
The resulting images looked rather dull and ordinary so this version has been solarised and I was rather taken by the effect so I'm sharing this in my Doubletakes album as a bit of fun.
This makes your eyes go funny when viewed on black!
It didn't make my eyes go funny...already gone there perhaps! However, I do think it's a rather attractive image and some significant distance from your genre.
