Damsel Fly? No! by vignouse

Damsel Fly? No!

When I came back from a walk this afternoon, I found a number of these clinging to the bodywork of our motorhome/RV. They were about 35mm in length and I presume that they were some kind of damsel fly. In the hope that someone can enlighten me, I'm posting this as a bonus image today.

Thanks to the wonderful folk at 365, I now know that this is a Mayfly.
how exquisite is nature

Crystal clear -- I've seen ones like these hanging from our screen each summer. They they seem to die off and go away.

I think they are Mayflies or very similar species, Richard.

Yes, a mayfly. We get them in Minnesota also. Short-lived. Fabulous shot

You caught it just in time and very well indeed. They have to complete their life in under a day I believe. I could almost envy them!
