Probably one of my all time favourites but I put it in my second album because I was doing 30 Days Wild at the time. It's my younger daughter's eyes and is pretty much SOOC.
(This was certainly an easier choice than my worst photo - too much choice there so can't even pick just one!)
This one was a special treat because I woke up one morning in NYC, and I forced myself out to see if I could catch the sunrise--and there was the sun just in the right spot. All natural and handheld. Still one of my favs.
Getting this tree in fall colors was on my photography bucket list. I live in Phoenix and this tree lives in Portland, so it was a gamble as far as timing went.
Mine came down to a coin flip basically. I decided on this one as it was one of the few that made it to Top 20. That's like winning the lottery for me.
"best" ??? Maybe that implies that I should pick one that got a lot of favs but frankly, my personal happy one is this one because every time I look at it I'm transported to how I anticipated seeing Fuji from my plane window, how I was excited to see it showing up on the horizon, how happy I was to capture it, and then how happy it makes me every time I see it. Fuji-san (means Mt Fuji) has a very special place in the heart of Japanese people.
This was really hard for me because I had a bunch of photos that I loved. But I had to go with this one because of those I loved the best, this was one that really mattered and was not just a pretty photo. A goal of mine for this year is to rock portraiture, specifically the eyes.
I had a few that I really liked, decided on this one because it was part of the 'Half and Half' challenge. It was a great challenge and I enjoyed coming up with an image every day.
So tempting to pick one of my joyful kid or family portraits, but this one might be the most authentic photo I've ever taken (in Haiti, inside a medical/dental clinic set up inside a church).
The mantra from most competition judges seems to be nature should be entered in nature, and should be colour. Well the colour version didn't do very well so I put this into mono and got first !
This wasn't my best pic from 2017 but it's one of my favourites because it still makes me laugh when I think about arranging all the letters and trying to get them to stay put :)
@wenbow Thank you for starting this! I learned from looking back through my photos that all of my favorites were shot with my 105mm, so I plan to shoot with that lens more often in 2018. I chose this one as my #1, because of the sweet memories it holds for me.
(This was certainly an easier choice than my worst photo - too much choice there so can't even pick just one!)
Palouse Falls State Park, WA
I really liked thus diptych of my kids doing the run leg of a mini-triathlon last February (I was also doing Flash of Red Feb at the time)
My favourite picture of our lovely Barnaby who we sadly lost this October aged 13 1/2. Still miss him
Came down to this one and a closeup of a bee but, in the end, I love the colour and the feeling of windswept petals in this one.
I think this was one of my favorite pictures in 2017.
Not technically brilliant- but it is unrepeatable!!
i love all my photos, can i say that? this one has the best stats and it was a wonderful morning, and i do love it.
