You might shop for macro tubes. These are empty tubes that go between your lens and camera body. They can be stacked to get even more macro-y, and they are lots cheaper than a dedicated macro lens.

I use extension tubes too. Worth a shot before investing in an expensive lens.

@maggiemae Here's what I have. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/787223-REG/vello_ext_cd_auto_focus_ext_tube.html Of course, you will need something that fits your camera and lenses.

Another vote for extension tubes. I use mine with a 35mm prime works a treat!

I also have extension tubes (won in a camera club raffle). If I want to get really close I put one on my macro lens 😊

@merrelyn I'm erring on direct to lens!!!
@grammyn if I'd realised I was going to do this I'd have focussed on the drop ( or fiddled with focus area thingy button)
@rjb71 35mm prime- what's advantage of thst lens?? ( still such a newbie at not just pointing and clicking!)
@tdaug80 Pentax are soooooo fussy!!!
@maggiemae keep me posted
@craigwantsnack do they work electronically or is everything then manual
@365anne another fanks xx

You can buy real cheapo ones that will require you to go full manual, or you can spend a little more and get ones that will β€˜talk’ to your camera body.
