As I was cleaning my teeth I locked eyes with a killer. She sat there for long enough for me to go downstairs to get my camera, open the window and get three photos.
I'm afraid she got a poor reception from the local bird population!
(I'm happy to be corrected to change the pronoun if she's a he)
I know that they do kill small animals, but they are amazing birds and I always count myself lucky to see one. Someone I met not long after my husband died told me if I see a hawk, it was my husband coming to check on me. I liked that and think of it every time I see one.
Thank you all so much, apparently she's a young sparrowhawk. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw her and luck that she was still there when I got back.
@wakelys bit more patient than a kingfisher!!!
