A Toast to Winter Holidays, Safe Travels, New Family Members, New Relationships & Our Mutual Friends
I introduced our friends Helen and Judee the last time Helen had a dinner for us before we left last spring http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2010-04-13 and she had us all over again this evening for another going away party. Billy & David had written us earlier today so our toast goes out to them tonight, remembering the fun the six of us had together a year ago! Always a chatty circle, we spent the evening talking about grandchildren... Helen's going to Phoenix next week to see her three, Judee has seven who all live nearby, and Ken and I are waiting for the phone to ring any time, but hope to be in Chicago for our first grandbaby's arrival! Of necessity, ready for Christmas, I took my gifts to Helen's tonight for her Kappa luncheon in December, the first one I'll have missed in years. She's an exceptional cook and hostess and I know I'm going to miss a wonderful time! One other bright note in the evening circled around Helen's renewed acquaintance with a former boyfriend at this summer's high school reunion. Widowed for several years, it was a delight to see how happy she is again. We enjoyed her excellent dinner out on the patio, and dessert was an apple crisp Ken and I made this afternoon. The time passed quickly over good conversation and glasses of wine. Thank heaven for email as we'll have a lot of news to share in the coming months!
Sounds like a wonderful evening of sharing good food and good friends. I am so impressed with your organization skills. You make everything sound so easy. Love this photo. Have fun with your upcoming events.
Great picture once more, I love how you tell us about your get togethers with friends. Sounds like you have a very rich social life. How wonderful for Helen to reunite with an old friend!! Life can give us unexpected treasures sometimes...
I always love hearing about your get-togethers with friends. You all know how to have a good time! It certainly sounds like you're all going to have lots of news to share in the coming months. How wonderful for Helen that she's been reacquainted with an old boyfriend. Funny how things work out sometimes.
What a wonderful happy photo.
Wherever you are in the world Louise & Ken, I look forward to hearing of your travels and news always.
Hope you get the good news soon :)
It's wonderful to have friends such as this to get caught up on...and just to share the moment. I'm looking forward to hearing your news as well. Exciting!
You can just feel the warmth in that photo Louise that comes from good friends. Good friendships are so meaningful in our lives, it provides such a great source of strength and encourgement, and of course the laughter, which is a very healthy aspect of life which we all so desperately need.
Your adventures just never end. Another chapter of them starting. Love reading about them! Such a happy photo for a send off. Hope you have great weather and good flights.
i love this photo--such a warm group of loved ones! and i truly love reading the commentary on the events of your day. i was especially touched by the mention of the prospect of new love for your friend after being widowed--how lovely for her!
I love all the newsy bits you fit in to keep us connected to you and Ken. I'm so glad I'm going to be with you on your winter travels. I'm guaranteed a great experience!
What a great picture! Hope to hear good news from you soon. I can remember how excited my parents were when their first grandchild was born! In fact 8 years later they still as excited!
Hi Louise

Thank you so much for all your comments Louise, I just looked back & saw you said you had got Skype its really good to be able to see the children and talk to them. have you got a camera on yours ?
what a great shot and happy looking bunch! so glad you were able to get together! when is your grandbaby due anyhow?
i also can't help but notice whites on the left, darks on the right (wine that is...) sorry it's a proclivity of mine to notice inane details... and thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart for your support and very kind words. blessings and hugs to you! XX
@andiejaye ...the due date is Oct 18th... We arrive on the 15th, so I'm ready to greet the newcomer any time now! It's a fair bet I'll have a *photo* to share with everyone :-) ...it's what we do around here, isn't it?!
HI!!!!
i would like to thank your for your loving/ sincere comments... (hugs)
and yes! cheers for Holidays, Safe Travels, New Family Members, New Relationships & some Mutual Friends ... =) nice photo @Weezilou =)
Red wine drinkers on the right, white on the left heehee. Sounds like another fun-filled friend evening for you! I got to say I got goose bumps reading "waiting for the phone to ring" such an exciting time for you. I can so clearly remember calling my mom at 4am from California to let her know to get on a plane from SC because her first grandchild was coming. Now today I am taking that small beautiful baby boy to college!! Well as you wait for the phone to ring, hundreds (if not thousands) are waiting for a picture to post of your new grandbaby!!!
Looks like a jolly time was had by all! I love this shot, Louise. You and Ken are looking very happy in anticipation. I remember when Ella was born. We were here, she was in Portland. We waited to visit until the other grandparents had been there. It seems like the new mom's parents have preference and I totally get that. When my Kate gets married and has a baby, I'm going to be the first one at her doorstep to see that baby! Have fun, Grandparents-to-be!
I really love it Louise :)
Wherever you are in the world Louise & Ken, I look forward to hearing of your travels and news always.
Hope you get the good news soon :)
nice,
Eva
