We went to a theater matinee in the town of Chester and spent the rest of the day photographing this gorgeous community. We took the coastal route back home, and again stopped in Mahone Bay where the clouds & reflections gave up a wealth of possibilities. I may have a better photo of this Blue Heron, but I love the coloration and patterns of the reflected church steeple http://365project.org/Weezilou/album-excess/2014-08-10
Each day I arrive home with several hundred photo possibilities...many now in HDR. There's simply no time to check them all in the present...but please do not take that to be a complaint! It's an embarrassment of riches in this exquisite Canadian province!
The reflections are amazing Louise. I was trying to work out what they could be before reading the caption. They reminded me of coloured icing on a cake and I was puzzled! The explanation cleared it up. Stunning and the bird is wonderful too. Fav
Love the reflection of the steeple in the water, and the heron casually walking through! I wish he had been in the lighter part of the water so that he would stand out more....but, then again I run into this with surfers in the water a lot....wanting to choreograph them so that they are positioned in front of the setting sun!! :-)))
@panthora Don't know about others, but most of my photos come wiuth a quandary. I've probably got 15 nice ones of the heron in the water, but no reflections... Here the reflection of the church steeple is so iconic in Mahone Bay...and I have a nice one without the heron! And then there's this... I know the heron is not well seen, but I went with this as it reminds me on that stopover for photos...a chance to actually photograph a heron as they often fly away(!) and I decided ti use the one with the reflections for good measure. ( LOL...If this job paid better, I'd work harder to make a career of it ;)
