Ken dropped me off at LaJolla Cove while he went to a meeting, and the time went by quickly as I photographed the ocean and marine life on the cliffs. In looking for the name of this type of seal, I found it's not "a seal", but "a sea lion" which are more territorial and can be aggressive. Hard to imagine that of this little pup who wanted only his mother's attention, though several times she bared her teeth at him... Poor little guy...
(He reminded me of a Shar Pei Puppy with all those loose folds of skin!)
Good to see a healthy one - so many sea lion pups are washing up on the beaches these days in poor health. There are many groups devoted to trying save these poor guys.
@stray_shooter Oh dear...won't say much, but 2 sea gulls were making short work of one...no, not alive... while still on the rocks :((( So glad to know there are people dedicated to helping them.
