Thank you all for your wonderful comments today about giving me a pass, "keeping my seat warm" and that my "credit's good". You're all the best! I wanted to introduce my friend, Enid, who arrived yesterday afternoon from Australia, but we only picked her up this morning after she got a good night's sleep. We chatted all day, went for a walk and she took us to dinner at a favourite restaurant we'd introduced her to several years ago. We ended the meal with a wedge of their famous Hula Pie to celebrate her upcoming birthday May 1st.
We got home just before 9 and who could blame her that she headed to bed straightaway. It gave me time to look through your photos as well as ones I took today.
I guess you could say I had my cake and ate it, too!
@gilbertwood@ethelperry Enid (& her husband, whom we adored, but recently passed at age 90) live in Moruya (near Bateman's Bay ...I think that was fairly close by). We met at a craft fair in the Hunter Valley while I was visiting friends in Sydney 22+ years ago! She'd come to SoCA on buying trips, we became good friends, & she and Gordon were the first to point out Nova Scotia to us! We both now spend summers there where we call ourselves "Northern Neighbours" :) She's on her way there, with her typical stopover with us for a week. We'll head up in mid-June.
Looks they have fun and a great time. How do I say : ``I like this pic.`` without a misunderstand or to be to intimate .? Never mind . I like this pic. of the two great smiling , good looking and showing `happy being` Enid and Ken .
What a lovely photo and what memories you guys have of your long friendship. Interesting how you met,and the fact that you both have places in Nova Scotia. Is she in Lunenburg too?
@pyrrhula Ferry, to say, "I like this picture", is a perfectly acceptable thing to say and means nothing more than I like the picture :) If you were to say, in American colloquial slang, "Whoa Baby! She's Hot!"...not acceptable! Just teasing you of course...I hope you're laughing :)
Wonderful portrait! Enid sounds like a very special lady....and, of course, she should be considering that you have been friends with her for more than 22 years!! Thanks for introducing her to us!
@Weezilou Well to tell the true : I was thinking that of her.
