On this gray, rainy day, at long last I'm sorting through photos from our final weeks in Lunenburg. I'd never even looked through many of these! And then...there was Dinah... Did she HAVE to be sitting on my suitcase? I'm of course reading my own feelings into it...cat's like to jump up on anything...
We hear she's doing well in her new home. Pam adores cats, and "Dinah" has two children to play with now; she'll love that. Another neighbour told me Pam had shoveled the snow to our back door so she could feed "Not Fred" as well. I'm so grateful my fur friends are being well cared for...
..but I look at this and I miss her company and cuddles terribly...
Oh my goodness Louise, this is a little heartbreaking. I'm glad she has a good home but I'm so sorry for your loss :( Her expression is very compelling.
@teiko@brillomick Thank you... When we go to Lunenburg, I do so knowing that I can't bring anyone home with me... However, since Dinah never had a home to begin with, she was hard to part with. She does now have her Forever Home, and I'm quite sure to see her again next summer...
When one of our previous dogs discovered we were getting ready to in the RV, he would jump in and refuse to get out. We slept in the RV up to three nights before we left (in the driveway) because Rambo wouldn't settle down n the house so we could sleep. We did this for several years every weekend or long trip we took. He was never left behind when we traveled in the RV, but guess he was afraid he would be...... The neighbors thought we were nuts when they saw us coming out of the RV one early morning..... obviously having slept there overnight..
@Weezilou Opps! Guess you guys are gettiing pelted with El Nino too, huh?? We've had a couple of tornado warnings down here today too. Strange weather, but we are enjoying being in and dry. The dogs aren't wild about the rain.... They have to be forced outside now and then........ and me getting soaked with them in the process.
oh that look on her face. It must have been very hard to leave her but she has a happy home and it will be interesting to see what happens when you go back. Maybe she will expect to move in again
I'm reading your feelings into it too. I know it was hard to say farewell to your buddy. But it sounds like she and Not Fred are being very well looked after, and that's a huge consolation. Sweet, sweet shot, Louise!
