One of My Two Worlds ... by Weezilou

One of My Two Worlds ...

I was enchanted with the lovely simplicity as people decorated their homes in Lunenburg. For the last three weeks I've been meaning to pick a couple to share here, so, with a contrasting decorating style in California, I decided it was time to post this.

I'll add the link to "California Christmas" and visa versa. I'm making no judgements, you understand... There are so many ways to express one's love of this holiday season!

Love the colorful front doors! You have the best of both worlds. Happy Holidays!

This too is quite nice. I must say, this year we really downsized. We went to a small white Christmas tree, and that is it. Had no time to get anything else out of the attic.

Love all of these!

Very pretty.

Beautiful! Lovely festive entrances. Personally I prefer this type of decoration to the light festival depicted in your California shot.

@salza ...me, too! Have a good day...we're about to call it a night with wee ones who'll arise early! A cup of coffee and I'll be with the program! Merry Christmas!

I like them all. Amazing how much trouble people go to.

Wonderful arrangement of doors and now different families decorate them. Wreaths, however, seem to the the most popular.

doors, why do there have to be doors! i will be embarking on a "doors and windows" project once again. i love what you've done here. lovely collage!

merry Christmas to you and ken and the rest of the family, and all the best for the holidays and the coming year!

This is a charming display... I prefer the "less is more" decorating style, too. Merry Christmas, to you and Ken. Hope you enjoyed your day with family.

I love to see the color combinations on houses and these are all different. I can't decide which I like the most. Wonderful collage.

For me it's fun to visit the lights but it's nicer to live the simplicity.

@joansmor You've identified my quandry precisely, Joan! I DO marvel at the lights, but I wouldn't want to have to put them away, come January! Lunenburg has the beautiful old homes that show off old-fashioned simplicity beautifully!

Love the wreaths and the differing architecture. Are you home for the winter now?
December 26th, 2015
@allie912 Hi Allie! Yes, we're home now until May...and even over dinner Ash was lamenting that we're not hoe enough... Like you without Jack today, don't we wish we could be in multiple places at once! Thanks for the nice comments; we had such a good day! Looking through photos for "just one" that's representative...or at least doesn't have a lot of "blurred children"!

This is a lot more subdued, but I really like all those doorways, especially with the wreaths on them! I know you love Lunenberg, and you will miss it while down here, but I am sure family will keep you busy in California. And, if they fail to do that, there is always your 365 family down here!! Can't wait to see you again!
