Is this not a good reason to come to California in the winter? When we moved here over 40 years ago, it seemed a most sensible plan to landscape the yard with 14 fruit trees, and here's some of the result! Daily, we drink smoothies, and use the fruit to marinate.
No need to share them with friends; they're trying to offload their bumper crops as well!
Nope, not Floridian! :-) Our oranges are different. Citrus industry is having a terrible time here, too. I am so thankful for our Commissioner of Agriculture. He is home grown and so smart. If anyone can help the industry, it will be him. They are battling a disease, citrus greening. :-(
@salza One of the better decisions in our lives to plant all the fruit trees! Best of all, they're ready in the winter months when we're home here! @quietpurplehaze Thanks, Hazel, on all counts! I was pretty happy that day when I realized how beautifully the orange and turquoise went together! Perhaps, when in need of a photo, I should set up a Cezanne-esque still life with my scarf and the oranges!
Fresh fruit off the trees!!! How wonderful! Hazel mentioned what I noticed immediately . . . your scarf and shirt are the perfect color for this fruit shot! This image makes me smile! :-)
I've had a couple of friends with apricot trees (I love them), but the birds often got to them before people could enjoy them. Around here, citrus is a pretty safe bet!
makes my mouth water just looking at them. We get Californian oranges over here when ours are not in season and I believe we send ours over to you too. Nice to share

Sounds good!!
