Though in the last two days our backyard has been visited by "our" Mallards, a darling young raccoon, many cats (most our own, feral though they be), doves aplenty, a pair of Hummingbirds and one God-forsaken possum (all photographed, of course), I enjoyed a step away from home in the afternoon and enjoyed a visit with my neighbor, Barbara and her cats, Charlie (above) and Chloe.
What a lovely change of pace, allowing for some quiet time with friends. Thank you, Barb, for the ambiance and a lovely setting in which to photograph your cats!
@jamibann@allie912@quietpurplehaze@summerfield Oh thank you all! He's silky soft and a real cuddle bug! (Have a Kleenex, Vikki!) (and Vikki, I DO have an animal "studio"! They follow me everywhere... Ken says it has something to do with "food"... I say I take my direction from St Francis!)
@Weezilou - whenever there's a dog festival here in toronto (methinks it's called "woof fest", although it includes cats and other pets, except snakes), there's always one or two booth for "professional dog photographers". with long line ups.
@kelly2 I couldn't agree more, Irene! You can see why I was enjoying the visit! @shepherdmanswife You seem to know all about cats! ha! This is how he handled the command to "Get Down!"! @kwind Thanks Kim... The decor was set and the cat nestled in...I just lifted the camera! @tunia Your comment is hysterically funny! Most of the time I will lift my camera and they start licking their butts! @teiko I hadn't thought that, but it certainly does! @danette I love my friend's home...so uncluttered and lovely!
beautiful cat and your yard sounds like mine, just add a skunk or two!! If you have a Facebook account check out Barley Murray, he was a rescue possum, I have actually grown fond of them, following him. https://www.facebook.com/barley.murray?fref=ts&ref=br_tf
@brillomick Well, I've never seen such pretty possums! LOVED looking at the FB pictures! Ken has the account, so I had him open it. Even he was amazed at how pretty they were! So glad you shared! ...and while skunks are beautiful to look at, I can't say I'd welcome them here...too many ways to go wrong amidst all the critters!
This looks like it might be used for an ad for something in a magazine. An awesome shot.... Kitty looks so comfy on the mantle. Love you menagerie photos. You definitely have a "residential zoo" at your home.
