what beautiful soft colours. I do love those hands so gently holding nature's delicate gifts. Is it your little bird that laid the egg. My mother in law's little cockaatiel Herbie recently passed away. I think he was well over 20 years old and is greatly missed
@cruiser I had a cockatiel for many years; caught him in the back yard! (I also caught a 2nd cockatiel and a canary that lived for 13 years) Pikake laid eggs on a regular basis, but they weren't fertilized, so I saved them. Now they rattle! I loved these hands when I bought them as they reminded me of the one I loved as a child on the table in my grandmother's entryway. I suppose in their day, they were receiving calling cards, but I've used them several times in this fashion to hold something delicate. I just find the combination touching and delicate.
@cocobella@teiko Thanks Corinne and Emilie. I see you feel about it as I did.
@pamknowler@annied Thanks so much, and yes, the back story is about my connection to the past with the hands, and my pet bird (who used to sit on the canary cage and keep Jack company! It was all "an era"... And Annie, yes, the cockatiels are sweet pets...used to hang out with me and liked to eat food off my breakfast plate!
@allie912 That mother bird is long gone, but I saved those sweet little eggs. I also gather feathers my many visitors leave behind. I was just in a mood to create a gentle tableau...
@seattlite@tunia@danette Thank you all so much! I appreciate that you took the time to comment and see something sweet in this.
@aglennc Thanks, Anita. I was "in need" of an image today and the next few days will be busy, so I have to stay on top of this!
@pyrrhula Thanks, Ferry, to you and Vikki @summerfield for liking the composition. When possible, I try to get it right so that I don't have to crop the image. And Ferry, that celedon green is a favorite of mine...and of antique collectors as well!
@Weezilou Thanks. Celedon I know from my interrest of Korea`s history. The birth country of one of our sons. They made the most beautiful ceramics with this glaze .
