The sun came out this morning! I only mention this because we've had a gray marine layer for most of the past 5 weeks! It was time to sit outdoors, visit, soak in the spa and finish those last, long conversations! My array of wildlife didn't disappoint as we were visited by the squirrel, lizards, and birds. But here's the kicker...the squirrel fell into the pool! We were ready to rush to her rescue, but, to our amazement, she paddled with gusto from one end to the other and clambered out! For her bravery and to fend off anxiety, I kept dishing out peanuts until she could eat no more!
Adding to the wildlife fascination, not far off in front of us, a hummingbird gathered spiderwebs for nest building! Her beak was wide open as she went in after them, a sight I'd never seen!
Good things come in three's, so before dinner, down at the beach, we walked on the pier, and Joanne spotted two whales passing by!!! Ken thought they might be dolphins, as we see them frequently, but when they exhaled through the blowhole, there was no doubt! We *think* they were Orcas, but I still have a lot of photos to go through! None the less, it was an amazing sight and a marvelous day!
What a day!! Glad the squirrel was ok and that you spoiled her! As for the look of stupor you captured (and the title) - I can relate to that squirrel! Pass the peanuts! Adorable capture - perfect composition on top of that!
