I've been putting out cat food each evening hoping to entice a neighbourhood cat to come for a visit. Over a week ago I knew I was getting a raccoon because the water would be dirty and I'd find muddy footprints. Imagine my utter surprise and absolute delight at this scene tonight when I caught "THE Raccoon" in the act!
But Wait! There's More!
There were actually six babies and the mother! When they finished eating, two started fighting over one of Ken's shoes, which was when he went for the rescue so they wouldn't carry it off under the deck! They ran up the big maple tree out back where I got some more flash pictures of them looking back down at us!
We came back in and put Cat Food on the shopping list...
"We came back in and put Cat Food on the shopping list..." lol that part cracked me up. How freakin' cute are they?! They look so little and fluffy, and if they wouldn't rip my eyes out, I'd try and hug them.
I once had racoons (two of them) come INSIDE the house through the cat door to eat cat food (several nights in a row)... not good, not good! Better to have them out on the deck! Great capture, Louise!
What a photo and story to go with it. New guests to entertain and take care of in the evening. I hope they learn some table manners and leave the shoes alone in the future!
wow do they bite ...... they look cute, but i bet they can do some damage if they get indoors .. or when they steal your shoes...lol.. nice shot Louise , keep those doors closed (o;
How cute!!! I laughed at the shoestory, I can just picture that happening! What a great way to meet new friends!
I'm sure they're very happy you came to stay in the house!
