Sitting for a Portrait

Who could blame me for not counting this amongst my happy moments today?! While Skyping with Heather & Bodhi this morning, she asked him if he could write his name on his chalk board. Amazed, I asked if he could actually make the letters! Well, at 2, that hasn't happened yet, but he spelled while "going through the motions" with great concentration! Then he stood up and began to draw large figures, pausing to say, "That's Papa"...he drew some more..."And that's Mema!"
"Mema" had to get a photo! Our daughter had the brilliant idea of painting the two short walls behind the bedroom door with chalkboard paint! Being an artist herself, it's no-holds-barred when it comes to providing art supplies and encouragement! I couldn't be happier!
That chalkboard wall paint is awesome. Sure wish they'd had it (or maybe they did, and I didn't know it) when our kids were small. Cute photo. How fun you can Skype them whenever you want to.

Certainly can't blame you for (a) wanting to capture the moment, (b) being very proud Mema and Papa, and (c) sharing as a happy moment! :) It's terrific to share your smile! :)

The chalkboard paint, wow, what a great idea for growing children. I guess the only other thing to do is to make sure they learn which wall is the chalkboard LOL, but if not, so be it. You can look at it as a fond memory

@digitalrn LOL! Yes, the day before, as we were chatting on Skype, Bodhi is quietly working away behind her... Suddenly she says, "Bodhi! That is NOT allright!!!" He was carefully coloring on his dresser! He listened to her admonition and promised not to do it again... And I noticed today the dresser looks fine again! (That bioy has no shortage of paper and places to color, but then he IS only 2 and has a lot of learn!)
