Rick left a comment about passing a field of wind turbines near Pittsburgh. We were flying over Pennsylvania enroute to Philadelphia when I could see these so clearly from this height. @digitalrn This might possibly be what you'd referred to. If not, then there are even more! And I stand with Josie about wildlife habitats... It's a hot-button issue with me, you might well imagine!
They ARE massive . . . have you ever stood next to one? They make these other worldly sounds and it was foggy and dark so i really felt like I was in a SF film.
From the air it is hard to tell if it was the same area I referred to, but very well could be. You can see them from the Turnpike. That is quite the view, and I know there are quite a few in that one area.
