...i was moving right along, getting items ticked off my list... "Take a break", I thought... "Look at some photos...". There they were, at the top of my home page...images of Autumn, rain, gloomy days...
Looking out my window, the tree burned yellow, and I thought, "Stretch your legs...get an afternoon photo... ...no, not through the window...step outside..."
When I wasn't looking, fog had enshrouded everything. The fish atop church steeple was barely visible. *snap snap* There was no view to be seen beyond the raspberry-colored building, muted to mauve. *snap snap* The childrens' swings, hanging limp, took on an eeriness in their emptiness and grey mist. *snap* I said hello to a lady walking by, and she said that down by the harbour, the air smelled of sea salt.
I called to Ken to join me for a drive ... what I needed was a chauffeur ... "Let's go to the cemetery first..." The mist and grayness befitted the setting. "Look at the crows..." he said. *snap snap* Clouds and fog layered and moved across the sky...misty trees became silhouettes as the high clouds opened to blue above, A finger's width band of orange at the horizon gave promise of a brilliant finale. At that moment, he said, "Turn around!" The colour changed before my eyes, the shadows flowed across the yellow-gray-green grass... *snap snap* Sun! Clouds! Bare branches!
Crows in flight! *snap snap Snap Snap*
"It's hard to stop", I said, and got in the car to go back home.
"I'll fix dinner", he said, "You check your pictures..." I never got very far. I saw pairings...cut and paste...layer and colour shift...
When I climbed out of the rabbit hole I brought along my Season's Greeting...
Well look at that. You are quite creative tonight, and what a super job you did, and so fitting. You know what I see in this? I see this as a party invitation, just perfect in all ways for that occasion.
@digitalrn Well thank you! Like you, with all this seasonal color, I'm off and running with my "cards & letters" like I shared a few days ago. That's what Id been doing when I left to collect more "stock footage"! I used to do this sort of thing as "mixed media collages" with all the pens, paper, scissors, and ephemra. How cool is this...I don't even have any mess, glue or paper scraps on my desk! That was fun!
@spetronis@spetronis Thanks, Steve...that was my first inspiration! I photographed the doll at an antique sale over the weekend...thought she was good for the "theme/creepy"...then all this happened along the way! She's blended with a full moon photo...all, etc etc...
