Scene Stealer

Driving alongside the river, I saw so many beautiful reflections to photograph. At this location, I was struck by the brightness of these low-lying leaves. I wanted a picture of them, but, oddly, they seem to overwhelm the muted colors!

If you know the name of this plant, I'd love to know as well. Would it be Sumac?
Beautiful! Pretty sure this is sumac.

Wow, the water appears as glass, and those reds are so vivid. Just an overall beautiful scene Louise.

I see what you mean Louise, but it's a stunning shot anyway - so many great colours. I don't know what the plant looks like, but if it grows into a small bush/tree it looks to me like what we call rhus, and many people are allergic to it.

Another wonderful shot - NS is so scenic! Yes, that's sumac and it grows everywhere. You're seeing the small version there, but check here for the tree version - http://www.bio.brandeis.edu/fieldbio/medicinal_plants/pages/Staghorn_Sumac.html

@kass Wow! What an interesting tree...I'll have to watch for that one. You probably understand that I was worried people would think I'd played around with the colour (I hadn't!) ...I almost didn't post it because of that! I asked the question, and the name came to me, but I wasn't sure. I knew the Canadians would know...and you all came through!
