"Puddles" del Pinguino by Weezilou

"Puddles" del Pinguino

Let me introduce myself... I have been cloned from a favored Christmas Penguin of my clan, who had a most unfortunate accident when he tripped and fell, splitting his helmet open and meeting an unfortunate demise. I consider myself lucky to be headed to a welcoming Chicago home in a much more conducive climate than where I find myself today. I came from a no-kill shelter at CVS where my fate was getting slim and ultimately I was passed off for under a dollar. I know I'm worth much more than that for the love and joy I'll bring to my future family...I do hope all hazardous zones have been cleared so I don't live up to my name and fate of my next of kin.

Shipped off to Southen California, as I was, from across the border in Santa's workshop. my sir name suits me here. Looking out across the expanse of hazy, warm afternoon sun, I can't bring myself to jump into that water...way too warm for THIS pinguino! I'll watch for activities I can join in until I can get back to my homeland of ice and snow...even if it IS south of Santa's Workshop.

In closing, the man who rescued me at the nice lady's request, thinks this is all nuts! He doesn't understand... You'd think he should know by now that nuts are for squirrels!
cuute!

Love it!! Lucky was this little penguin to be rescued by a very special family. I think, in time, he will acclimate nicely to the SoCal life/temps. Adorable shot and narrative, Louise!

hee hee, so glad the CVS is a no-kill shelter! Also glad that you have a snowy helmet to keep yourself cool.

Love that part about CVS being a no-kill shelter. Made me laugh out loud! What a lucky penguin, to be the one chosen from among the crowd. I wonder if he ever imagined himself being the star of a picture and story.

Eagle picture: yeah, I look at these majestic birds and wonder how in the world the turkey managed to even be suggested.

I loved the stories and I was laboring under the difficulty of reading them in reverse order!
