She's been a fixture in our yard for many years, building her nest in the fichus tree directly behind her. Ken likes to keep the trees trimmed back as they, otherwise, have a tendency to grow massive root structures. I pleaded my case successfully to put it off until our return this winter. Though last spring's babies had flown the nest, I couldn't risk that there might be more nests in the dense foliage. And so the trees were thinned a week ago, and it was such a pleasure to see her return, probably having watched it all from some nearby branch. don't you just love the relationship that we have some animals? We have a a sparrow I believe it is that all day long tries to attack its image in our car mirrors the side mirrors unless we cover them up. We try to because we feel bad for the bird having so much stress.
