I had to laugh when I saw the drake descend into the pool early this morning. I thought, when I went out with the camera, he might take off, but he just kept looking & craning his neck in disbelief, so I took some very funny video! Shortly, he flew up to join the Mrs. and they waited for me to set out dishes of food.
At the outset of this project, we didn't think we'd be taking the re-do this far, but several of you noted that it's like peeling away the layers, and you can't leave a part of it undone. We'll have a nice outdoor room when it's complete. The weather is 83 degrees today, so we'll be out there enjoying it daily, I suspect!
Wow, just wow!!! What exactly happened here.....yes, it is like peeling paint, and I am not sure where it stops!! Maybe at the neighbor's property, and maybe it spreads to the house! It will be fabulous when it is done!
@panthora It was time to have the pool re-plastered & we'd considered putting that off until next year. However...we began to reconsider the flagstone that was the coping...and it was suggested "the order of the layers of work" might be better by moving forward...and we weren't high pressured at all, but could see the sense in it. It's going to be an entirely new look, and, like you, it's going to be "an outdoor room" where we'll enjoy spending time...and entertaining the animals! (The interior was done several years ago...3 re-model projects even!...so we're pretty happy with all that...)
It is Make Way for Ducklings with your pool taking the place of Boston's Public Gardens! And a good thing too, since I'm sure the Boston lakes and rivers are totally unapproachable right now. And you can just stop bragging about 83 degree temperatures. We in the East are not in the mood.
