Jodo Temple ... Maui, Hawaii by Weezilou

Jodo Temple ... Maui, Hawaii

While driving side roads near Lahaina, we came across the temple grounds of the Jodo Mission and found some lovely photo opportunities there. I photographed the impressed signage, thinking at the time I could use it as a texture. I also added the texture of beach sand and followed the directions, as given on the video I used at the outset of this series. Sometime I might try branching out, but with limited time this week, I gave the exercise another go...not flowers this time! The signature is my name in Chinese, given to me by my friend, Stephanie's, Chinese uncle who is a linguistics teacher at Fort Ord.

For the time being, I'm completely hooked on this texture stuff...and to those who've expressed a perceived inability, just follow the directions! They're hugely fun to create, and you never know how they'll turn out!
Well done! It is beautiful, an instant fav!

What a great picture! I did notice the texture right away and wondered how you did it. I will watch the video as I enjoy experimenting with textures.

Beautifully put together. It makes a fabulous card. I am enjoying seeing what you come up with probably as much as you are enjoying putting them together!
