While driving side roads near Lahaina, we came across the temple grounds of the Jodo Mission and found some lovely photo opportunities there. I photographed the impressed signage, thinking at the time I could use it as a texture. I also added the texture of beach sand and followed the directions, as given on the video I used at the outset of this series. Sometime I might try branching out, but with limited time this week, I gave the exercise another go...not flowers this time! The signature is my name in Chinese, given to me by my friend, Stephanie's, Chinese uncle who is a linguistics teacher at Fort Ord.
For the time being, I'm completely hooked on this texture stuff...and to those who've expressed a perceived inability, just follow the directions! They're hugely fun to create, and you never know how they'll turn out!
Beautifully put together. It makes a fabulous card. I am enjoying seeing what you come up with probably as much as you are enjoying putting them together!
