When we went out to cut a reasonably sized tree for the living room, I couldn't resist some of the tiny ones.
Ken polished a brass artillery shell I bought at auction years ago, and I decorated with mini ornaments and a string of LEDs. The base is wrapped with birch bark, holly berries and several types of pine & spruce, surrounded with mosses from the ground. Last year a friend gave me some peacock feather to decorate with, and a single one made a nice finishing touch.
In this photo, the late afternoon sun was pouring in the window, so it's not all evenly lit, but you just can't make Christmas decorations look bad! Even Charlie Brown had a handle on that!
@salza Thanks, Sally! I took it off the camera to use as an e-card to sent to a friend, and decided it would make a good addition here, too. My friend has yet to get it...but will soon!
wonderfully artistic. i love the soft tones reminding me of Christmases that had long gone but memorable (happy memorable). i agree with sally @salza, would make a wonderful greeting card!
You are so creative and imaginative. This is lovely. We're decorated around here now...... first year we've every had an artificial tree, and with all the ornaments, etc. it looks so real. Love it. And not watering and it doesn't drop its needles.
So warm and perfect for your place! We just came back from the mill and cut the trees we took down in the summer. So now we have the slabs ready to make our cottage dining room table - just need them to dry out over the winter. Check out my latest photo since I know you were so interested in this project Rob and I are working on. ;)
