One & 1/2 Miles to Mexico! by Weezilou

One & 1/2 Miles to Mexico!

On a whim, Ken and I decided to see if there were any Mexican groceries in our area, and we found the pot of gold first try! This place is so authentic, I had to trot out my meager Spanish, but when I had a question that involved a product I couldn't say in Spanish, the man helping me had to go to the back to find a translator! Here, just inside the front door, they were making both flour & corn tortillas of varieties I'd never seen before! When I picked up a bag of small corn tortillas, they were still warm!

The store was huge and the food all looked so fresh and fabulous! In fact, it IS , and we've already been back 3 times in 4 days to restock! I sent photos to some friends in NS who are amazing cooks, and they've already sent me their grocery-shopping lists!

Mexican Dining is about to come to Lunenburg!

Most of the contents of my shopping bag are here http://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2016-03-02

@brigette You shop the local farmer's markets? We love them as well! Speaking of groceries, how's the kitchen coming along?!

@Weezilou I don't shop farmers markets as much as I would like to... but you've reminded me that i should start doing that. I pretty much buy my fruit and vege from the local vege store though... not the supermaket

Awesome shot! Love Mexican food and markets. We have our share down this way. Have three major Mexican markets, at least, in our community. We go to one for freshly handnade tortillas, warm Mexican buns, and lunch in their lunch court.
