The Ever-Growing City by Weezilou

The Ever-Growing City

This façade from the Chicago Stock Exchange Building is clearly artistic enough to stand on the grounds of the Art Institute to be admired for generations to come. I loved that I could line up the 57-story Blue Cross-Blue Shield Building that was completed one hundred years later in 1997. There's something to love about all of it, and in this case that I could so easily time travel...
Wonderful comparison.

@thresheg @francoise @pamknowler @noko411 Thank you so much for your comments! The blue building was at a far distance from where I stood, so it was fun to line them up! I wonder what the folks of 1893 would have thought of Modernism!

What a great idea to contrast the two this way, and I love the clarity of the shot! I remember the incredible variety of architectural styles in Chicago...truly amazing. Glad you had such a great time there, Louise! :-)
