I wasn't aware that Ken was about to take a photo as my black cat, Pink, was seated next to me. The setting was "wrong" and the photo, nearly black. His two others with the flash completely lost the somber mood...so I went to work. I pulled the grainy photo out of the darkness and threw some high contrast over it...
There... quite fitting for the feeling at that moment.
@pcarlaw What a delightful comment! Clearly I need to start dressing better in front of my friends! LOL...i'm just chuckling as I write back to you...that was just fun!
Some good editing here Louise if you have pulled it back from nearly black. You have created a very atmospheric image which makes me feel your sadness as you gaze into the fire.
Louise, I love this!! The dark definitely shows a mood, and the jammies and the fire in the fireplace jut add to the ambiance. The kitty by the fireplace brings back so many memories. We always had cats when I was growing up, and I have inherited so many photos my Dad took with one of them, at least, reclining in front of the fire in the fireplace.
@colorfade@cruiser@golftragic Thanks ladies...this seldom happens...time to be "lost in thought"... Don't want to bring down the mood, but we lost some friends in Lunenburg today, and it's been a sad day... Thanks for coming by. Writing this on Monday, and I'm back around...
Just read your comment above. I am so sorry for the loss of your friends, Louise. That certainly explains the poignant vibe of this image. I can see that the sad news hit you very hard. Again, I am just so sorry. xx
