As I photographed the surfers in Huntington Beach (home of the original Beach Boys and their music), there was also a surf tournament going on on the other side of the pier. I kept my ears open to conversations and learned some of the lingo ;-)
Marvelous as the surfers were, the exquisite beauty of a wave and the undulating lines and colors as they crest and spill would captivate me forever!
@louannwarren I was quite mesmerizing to watch them! I used this because of the power of the water in it, and *next visit* (which would be Sunday again!) I'm going to watch the most closely for more like this. It could happen as the moon will be closer to full (I think)... And thanks for thinking I can do magical things... I took a lot, and it's funny that not every surfer stance looks brilliant! MANY awkward moments!
