Each evening the four of us would sit around a table and look at the day's photos. While I loved the views down to the town of Avalon, Mike and Lana picked this as their favorite of the day. I think they said, "You've GOT to post this one!"... so for my friends, here it is! It certainly speaks to the beauty of the day and the exhilaration the passengers must be feeling as they sail behind the speed boat!
Oh! In Puerta Vallarta years ago a girlâs parachute collapsed just as the boat had her up about 30 feet, she literally fell at my feet. Long story, but she ended up unconscious and broken. I covered her in beach towels and stayed with her till the ambulance came. I called her father in the States and told him to come to Mexico. The girl was on spring break, all of 18 and her friend was the same. I knew the girls couldnât handle the situation that was unfolding, they needed an adult! Based on that experience, I removed parasailing from my bucket list.
This is a beautiful picture but I feel like Lou Ann. Having lived in Puerto Vallarta I heard those stories way to many times. Looks fun - but way too dangerous! I am loving your trip to Catalina, Louise!
@louannwarren@stownsend Oh, I feel much the same! When our girls were in college and wanted to cross the border for spring break, Ken would tell them that if something happened, he couldn't get to them easily, and if it involved drinking and jail, he had no connections to help them out. He must have been convincing as then never went there at those times. Raising children...especially teens...is not for the ill-equipped! LouAnn, it pains my heart to consider that poor girl and how her parents must have felt!
