This is the view to the Academy from our friend's back deck where we went for Thanksgiving dinner. If anyone wondered what they might be thankful for, this would have been a good place to start!
Wow, so gorgeous!! The light is fabulous, and oh, all those fall colors, and of course that "castle" at the top of the hill!! What a view! Is that a cemetery, though, down below at the base of the trees?
@panthora Yes, that is a cemetery...the new section, down the back hill from where I take my photos at sunset. The Academy was a grade school for over 100 years...imagine the kind of threats used to keep children in line (so we've been told by many who attended school there!)
What a glorious landscape Louise. I love that you only see a bit of the "castle" and the light just cuts right across the tree tops. The cemetery even looks great.
@dgrynn Thanks, Deb! Glad to see you again! That "castle" is a school built in the late 1800s! It's been empty a year and just became The Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance. We're all thrilled to see it being used, and so beautifully! My recent B&W photos are from up there and tell what's been going on...
