During brunch at Duke's, our favorite restaurant, the ukulele player and his hula dancer came to the table to perform for us. We enjoyed three island songs and dances, and I could have chosen any of the photos I took of the beautiful young lady! She was gorgeous, with an easy smile, and a pleasure to talk to afterward as well.
We'll be back there again next week with the grandkids; we never tire of the food, music, ambiance, and beach-front location!
@gardenfolk What sort of a question is THAT about the Hula pie?!!!! While it's gilding the lily at a brunch with their assortment of 18 desserts at least(!), we've seldom missed occasions there: https://365project.org/Weezilou/365/2015-06-14
@cruiser Even if you just make it to the Hawaiian Islands, the original was on Waikiki Beach, and there are several others we know of, like on Maui and Kauai... For food and ambiance, we think there's nothing like it!
@Weezilou Yes, but do you also have the Hula Pie plate? LOL! We have been to Duke's Waikiki and the Duke's in Malibu. Plus, they also serve Hula Pie in Lake Tahoe at Sunnyside, a beautiful place right on the lake with great views a beautiful wood motor boats.
@gardenfolk I was looking through some older photos and came across this one, too! Seems I asked to have the plate for the photo...or maybe the waiter saw me taking the photo and brought me the additional plate! Why miss an advertising moment?! That was 7 years ago today! We're thinking we may as well make it a run and go there for Easter Brunch again!
