life and death bw

I toyed with b&w for this, so when Osia mentioned the possible effectiveness of b&w I thought I'd post it and see what others thought.

@aecasey Thanks, April....yes, I do like this one better. The patterns have become more dominant, and it feels like life is springing out of decay. You can now see the two elements interacting, whereas before the green was so strong that it was overpowering the skull in the background.

@panthora Thank you for your input. I wasn't happy with the strong contrast the color created but thought it was the lighting. The more I look at the two together the more I like the b&w.

Haven't gotten as far as the other shot, but I do think this is very effective in b&w. Brings out the somber subject as well as the various textures.
